Confianza

Tus contratos siguen siendo tuyos.

Los hechos que podemos respaldar hoy: quién puede ver una sala, qué hace Lex con el texto y cómo decirnos que nos hemos equivocado.

Who can see a shared contract room

A shared contract room is the page both sides use for one deal. Only the two sides in a room can see that contract: the people you invite, and the people they add. Nobody else can open it. It is never listed or searchable.

The other side never pays and never needs an account. You copy one share link; they open it free, with no account. Both sides negotiate through that one link. Each side’s Lex, notes and playbook stay on that side. The other side never sees them.

How the paper works: how to write a contract, NDAs explained, when a client redlines. Product statements: facts. Plans: pricing.

What encryption in transit and at rest means

Encrypted in transit means the contract is protected while it moves between your browser and the service. Connections use HTTPS.

Encrypted at rest means the stored copy is protected on disk. The database, files and backups are encrypted on disk.

Versions, e-sign and the signing record

Every version is kept. Nothing is edited silently. Each change shows who proposed it and when it was accepted. A redline is a proposed edit, not a signed change. Accepting a clause is not signing.

When the words are agreed, both sides e-sign one frozen version. An is any electronic way of showing agreement, such as a typed name. Signatures attach to the exact words signed. Later edits are a new version; earlier signatures stay with the words they signed.

The signing record is the downloadable record of that e-signature — the audit trail of who signed the frozen wording. Both sides get the signed contract and its signing record. Keep it for as long as you like.

The executed version is the signed, frozen text that is the deal. Drafts, and comments are not. A counterpart is a signed copy of the same wording.

Cómo tratamos el texto de los contratos

De-identified content means text with identifying details removed. The rule for each plan is the published data-use line:

Free and Plus may use de-identified content from your own side of the deal to improve Lex, with an opt-out in Settings. Pro, Team and Enterprise content is never used, and the other side's content is never used.

The same line is on facts and pricing.

Qué hará y qué no hará Lex

Lex drafts the contract from a description of the deal, usually one sentence. Plain English explains each clause. The legal wording governs.

Lex drafts and explains. It never sends, accepts or signs. A person always does that. Plain English is an explanation; the legal wording governs.

Electronic signatures — sourced lines

Each line below was checked against the official page on 7 October 2026 and is pending lawyer review. A deed is a more formal document that needs a witness who attests the signature. Country pages: England and Wales, New York. Full list: facts.

Preguntas frecuentes

¿Qué no hará Lex?

Lex redacta y explica.

Seguridad: escribe a hello@contracts.io.

Is contracts.io safe for contracts?

A contract is only visible to the two sides: the people you invite, and the people they add. It is never listed or searchable. Connections use HTTPS. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every version is kept. Signatures attach to the exact words signed. Both sides can download the signed contract and its signing record.

What is a signing record?

The downloadable record of the e-signature on a frozen version. Both sides get the signed contract and its signing record, and can keep it for as long as they like. Every version is kept, and signatures attach to the exact words signed.

Are e-signatures valid?

In England and Wales, an electronic signature is admissible in evidence and capable of executing a document where the signer intends to authenticate it and any formalities are met. Under the federal ESIGN Act, electronic form alone is not a reason to deny legal effect. The sourced lines are listed on the facts page.
